Is there a demand for Just Jhoom! Instructors?

Yes – there is! Just Jhoom! is a new, exciting dance-fitness programme and currently we have more and more people emailing us to join Just Jhoom! classes. The demand for classes is far outweighing the supply! So, you could be one of the first Just Jhoom! Instructors in your area – and capture the market before anyone else does!

How do I become a Just Jhoom! Instructor?

The Just Jhoom! Fitness Certification Course (Bronze Level) is the first step to becoming a Just Jhoom! Instructor. On completion of the course and assessments, you will be able to start classes using the Just Jhoom! Trademark name. You will be able to set yourself up as a Just Jhoom! Instructor.

Are there any prerequisites?

Yes. Ideally, you need to have a dance or fitness qualification or relevant experience – we understand that excellent teachers will come from a variety of backgrounds – so please do contact us to discuss your suitability.

What is the difference between the Just Jhoom! Fitness Certification Course (Bronze Level) and the other workshops you do?

The Just Jhoom! Fitness Certification Course (Bronze Level) is our principle training programme and is based on 3 main disciplines:
• Indian Classical and Folk dancing
• Exercise to Music (ETM) exercises and safety guidelines
• Yoga exercises and postures

This course is the foundation for all other Just Jhoom! workshops. Once you have taken and passed this course, you are then able to teach three different styles of a Just Jhoom! class. You are also then eligible to enrol on to the other Just Jhoom! workshops.

Is your course accredited?

Yes! Just Jhoom! Fitness Certification Course (Bronze Level) has been endorsed by SkillsActive for 16 REPS’ CPD points. If you are a Level 2 Group Exercise to Music Qualification and a member of REPS you qualify for 16 REPS’ CPD points on successful completion of the course.

Is there any written or practical assessment to the course?

Yes. To ensure that there is a high standard of Just Jhoom! classes we expect our Instructors to be assessed before they begin teaching. We want Just Jhoom! to be associated with trained, professional and motivated Instructors providing safe, effective and fun exercise sessions. The assessments are our way of ensuring that you are ready to teach the classes. But don’t worry! Most of the assessments happen during the course in the form of quizzes and practical exercises. And you will have time to prepare for your main practical assessment which involves planning and teaching a class. This can be assessed by video submission or on one of our assessment days.

How long is the Just Jhoom! Fitness Certificate (Bronze Level) valid for?

After successful completion of the Just Jhoom! Bollywood Fitness Certification Course (Bronze Level) and the assessments, your Instructor status is valid for one year. This gives you time to set-up classes and focus on building your Just Jhoom! clientele. The number of classes you decide to do is entirely up to you! You can do one class a week, 100 classes – or no classes. You decide. And all the money you make is yours.

How do I keep my status up-to-date?

Your Just Jhoom! Instructor status is automatically valid for one year after successful completion of the course. After that, you will be required to keep your Just Jhoom! Instructor status valid by joining and maintaining your membership of the Just Jhoom! Instructor Association. This will be a requirement to use the Just Jhoom! Registered Trademark. This is one of the ways that we ensure that you are kept up-to-date with new developments and also to ensure that the quality of Just Jhoom! classes being taught are of the highest standards.

What happens after the course? Can I start teaching straightaway?

You can start teaching as soon as you feel ready and after you have practiced to make sure you are comfortable with the Just Jhoom! formats and routines. Perhaps do a few free taster classes for friends and family to get used to the style. Within 8 weeks of starting your first class you will need to submit a video recording of one of your classes as part of your assessment so that we can issue you with your final certificate.

I registered for a course but have to cancel. What should I do?

In the event that you cancel your place at least 14 days before the course, the sum of £75.00 shall be deducted from the refund of the fee to cover administration costs.
In the event that you cancel your place with less then 14 days before the course starts, fees are non-refundable. However, we will transfer your fee to another suitable course date. Please note that there will be a date transfer fee for each transfer. Maximum two transfers - and an alternative date is subject to availability.

What should I bring or wear to the course?

Aerobic or workout clothes - comfortable leggings or trousers and a t-shirt along with suitable footwear such as trainers or dance shoes.
Ensure that you keep accessories to a minimum and do not wear jewellery that could come loose or be uncomfortable when you start moving.
Please do bring bottled water with you, snacks for the breaks and lunch.
Please bring a notebook and pen with you.

Can I take pictures or film the course sessions?

No. We do not allow any of the sessions to be filmed or photographed except by an approved Just Jhoom! photographer.

What is JIA?

Once an instructor has achieved Bronze Level, they are invited to become part of the Just Jhoom! Instructor Association (JIA). There are many benefits to joining JIA including a dedicated Instructor website, new choreography on a regular basis, help with publicity and marketing, and the opportunity to network with other Just Jhoom! Instructors. Membership to JIA in the first year is optional. It only becomes mandatory to pay if you want to continue teaching Just Jhoom! classes after one year of becoming certified. This allows instructors to run Just Jhoom! classes using the Just Jhoom! Registered Trademark name. They will be able to advertise themselves as a Just Jhoom! Instructor.

How do I become a JIA member?

On receiving your Certificate of Achievement, you will receive a joining pack which will give you full details on how to join JIA.

Are there any ongoing costs after the training?

In the first year there are no costs at all (unless you want to join JIA). At the end of the first year, the only ongoing cost you will incur from Just Jhoom! is the subscription to JIA which is currently £120 per year. This allows you to call yourself a Just Jhoom! Instructor, use our choreography and run Just Jhoom! classes under the Just Jhoom! Trademark and brand name. After one year of setting up and running Just Jhoom! classes you will know whether you want to continue or not and will be able to make an informed decision on whether or not to join JIA.

Can I train with Just Jhoom! and call myself a Just Jhoom! Instructor without joining JIA?

When you successfully pass your Just Jhoom! Fitness Certification Course (Bronze Level) your Just Jhoom! Instructor status is valid for one year. You can call yourself a Just Jhoom! Instructor during this time – irrelevant of how many classes you run. You do not have to join JIA at this stage unless you want to benefit from new choreography, enhanced website listings and other excellent resources. After one year of being certified, you need to be part of JIA to keep your Just Jhoom! Instructor status valid and to use the Just Jhoom! Trademark. You will be required to sign an Instructor Agreement on enrolment and before training. (A copy of this is available from the Just Jhoom! office). This is our commitment to you to let you use the Just Jhoom! name for one year with no additional costs, and your agreement with us to join JIA if you wish to continue using the Just Jhoom! name after a year. If you decide to train with us and then decide not teach Just Jhoom! classes that is absolutely fine.

My venue/organization would like to host a Just Jhoom! Fitness Certification Course. How do I do this?

Please email info@justjhoom.co.uk with your query and we will get back to you as soon as possible with more details.

Do you provide music for the classes?

We want to keep the costs of the training as low as possible – and so we do not provide music CDs as that would raise the price of the training fee. CDs will be available for you to buy on the day - but we suggest buying music online as it works out so much cheaper for the individual instructors as you only buy tracks you need/want - and not tracks you don't want. There are literally thousands of tracks available - and we show you what to get and where - but it would be impossible to provide all the music. The original list of music we give you is so that you get used to listening to Bollywood music - but you may find you want to teach different tracks once you learn what to look for.

So, don’t just sit there... Just Jhoom!
