❌💻HOW TO TAKE A SOCIAL MEDIA BREAK IN DECEMBE ❌💻HOW TO TAKE A SOCIAL MEDIA BREAK IN DECEMBER❌💻

Taking a social media break is so important. If you would like to join me this December, here is what you need to do.

1) Announce Your Break:
Let your followers know about your break and set expectations. A simple post or story can do the trick.

2) Set Boundaries:
Temporarily disable notifications to resist the urge to check your feeds constantly. Consider removing social media apps from your home screen.

3) Plan Offline Activities:
Fill your calendar with fun offline activities. Whether it's a hike, game night, or cozying up with a good book, make the most of your time away from the screen. We are already booked to see the hilarious Because You Said So, and then we go up to Nanyuki to stay at the cabin. From there we will visit Ol Pejeta, Ngare Ndare and spend a couple of days with my sister in Samburu. Phew – we just won’t have time to be on social media!

4) Designate Social Media Time:
If complete abstinence isn't your style, set specific times each day to check and respond to messages. This way, you can stay connected without being constantly plugged in. Although, I think this is a slippery slope! Avoid if you can!

5) Explore New Hobbies:
Use this break to discover or rediscover hobbies. Whether it's painting, cooking, or learning a new instrument, let your creative side shine. I’m going to be doing a Mediumship and Intuition class – and I love reading – my book pile is high!

6) Connect Face-to-Face:
Strengthen your real-world connections. Schedule meet-ups with friends and family, or host a small gathering. We have some lunches and brunches booked in with friends before we head off to Nanyuki – but of course if you are in Nanyuki around the festive season – do pop in for a cup of chai.

Remember, this break is about recharging and reconnecting with what matters most.

I'll be back in January, and I can't wait to share the refreshed vibes with all of you then!

Until then, let's make December a month to remember without the constant scroll.

Have a wonderful, joyful and peaceful December!

❌💻✨5 BENEFITS OF TAKING A SOCIAL MEDIA BREA ❌💻✨5 BENEFITS OF TAKING A SOCIAL MEDIA BREAK✨💻❌

Taking a social media detox can bring about some fantastic benefits.

Here are five to consider:

🙌🏽1) Mental Clarity:
Stepping away from the constant stream of information and notifications allows your mind to declutter. It's like giving your brain a refreshing reset, making room for clearer thoughts and improved focus on the present.

🙌🏽2) Improved Sleep Quality:
Social media use, especially before bedtime, can interfere with sleep patterns. Taking a break helps break the cycle of late-night scrolling, leading to better sleep quality and a more rested you.

🙌🏽3) Enhanced Real-Life Connections:
Without the digital distractions, you can invest more time and energy into face-to-face interactions. Strengthening real-life connections fosters deeper relationships and a greater sense of community.

🙌🏽4) Reduced Stress and Anxiety:
Social media can sometimes contribute to feelings of inadequacy or fear of missing out (FOMO). A detox provides a break from these stressors, allowing you to focus on your own life without the comparison trap.

🙌🏽5) Increased Productivity:
With fewer digital distractions, you might find yourself with more time on your hands. Use this time to tackle personal projects, pursue hobbies, or simply be more productive in your daily life.

Remember, a social media detox is a personal choice, and the benefits can vary from person to person. It's all about finding a balance that works for you and enhances your overall well-being.

❌💻THE ANNUAL SOCIAL MEDIA DETOX💻❌ So, o ❌💻THE ANNUAL SOCIAL MEDIA DETOX💻❌

So, once a year I take a social media break. Sometime in August, but mostly in December. And this year is no different. I’m going off Instagram, Threads, X, Facebook and LinkedIn for the whole of December. 😳😳😳

This is why I do it…🙏🏼✨🙏🏼

✨1) Reflect and Recharge:
December is a time for reflection of the past year and recharging for the upcoming year. It’s been such a busy year and stepping back from the constant flow of social media allows me to be present in the moment.

✨2) Quality Time:
The holidays are all about spending quality time with loved ones – and I can’t wait to spend time with Amar in our cabin in Nanyuki. By disconnecting from my phone, I can fully immerse myself in the joy of shared moments, creating memories that go beyond the screen.

✨3) Mindful Living:
Social media can sometimes be overwhelming, and a break helps me practice mindful living. I am a Mindfulness Coach – and if I can’t do this how can I expect my coachees to do so! Mindful living allows me to be more in tune with my thoughts, feelings, and surroundings without the distraction of social media!

✨4) Digital Detox:
A break provides a much-needed digital detox. It's a chance to break free from the habitual scrolling and find inspiration in real-life experiences, whether it's enjoying holiday festivities or simply embracing quiet moments.

✨5) Gratitude and Appreciation:
December is a time to appreciate the blessings of the year – and what a year it has been! Taking a break from social media helps me cultivate gratitude for the simple pleasures and the people who make life meaningful. Thank you to everyone who made this year so special and meaningful!🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

✨✨During this break, I'll be focusing on spending time with Amar, reading, meditating and practicing self-care, festive celebrations, and preparing for a fresh start in the new year.✨✨

If you need to reach me, feel free to send me a WhatsApp – but don’t be surprised if it takes me a few days to message back.

Wishing you all a joyful, mindful and peaceful December! 🙏🏼✨🙏🏼

⭕️🙏🏼GRIEF CIRCLE TALKS ABOUT HOW TO BREA ⭕️🙏🏼GRIEF CIRCLE TALKS ABOUT HOW TO BREAK THE NEWS ABOUT SOMEONE’S DEATH🙏🏼⭕️

We might be smiling but I was definitely grumpy today.
Watch to see why!
I just think we should do better!!

And as @aleemanoormohamed says - we need to show more compassion when it comes to death.
